In the open letter, Varun reminisced about his long-standing association with Pilibhit, stating, "My bond with Pilibhit is one of love and trust, far beyond any political affiliation. I was yours, I am yours, and I will always remain yours."

Despite speculation suggesting Varun Gandhi might contest independently from Pilibhit, he opted not to file nomination papers even on the final day, effectively putting an end to such rumors.
